We get it.

College planning has lots of steps and applying for financial aid can sometimes be an intimidating process, especially if it’s your first time.

That’s why the Oklahoma College Assistance Program (OCAP) created StartWithFAFSA.org, a website designed to help Oklahoma students and parents understand financial aid and the FAFSA process. OCAP runs UCanGo2, a college access initiative that educates families about planning, preparing and paying for education after high school.

OCAP is a division of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and in addition to UCanGo2, runs Oklahoma Money Matters, a financial education program; OKcollegestart.org, Oklahoma’s student portal for college planning and Ready Set Repay, a program that helps students and borrowers successfully manage and repay their student loans.

Now that you know who we are, let’s get back to StartWithFAFSA.org. On this site, we’ll walk you through the FAFSA completion process, point you to resources and even answer your questions along the way.

If you’re prepared, completing the form will only take about an hour—not a bad investment of time considering you’ll more than likely qualify for some form of aid.

If you have questions, feel free to leave them in the comments section. Please refrain from leaving any personal or private information since this is an open forum. You can also submit your question via email.

OCAP believes that financial literacy and understanding the financial aid process are critical aspects of college planning and student success. OCAP staff who work with students, parents, educators and community partners in the areas of personal finance education, state and federal financial aid, and student loan management do not provide financial, investment, legal, and/or tax advice. This website and all information provided is for general educational purposes only, and is not intended to be construed as financial, investment, legal, and/or tax advice.
