Each year, the Oklahoma’s Promise Scholarship Program is celebrated at the State Capitol with an Oklahoma’s Promise Day event held during the month of April. This year’s event is scheduled for April 15.
Another statewide event, Higher Education Day, had been scheduled for February 8 but was postponed due to inclement weather. Since both of these special days focus on the importance of higher education in our state, April 15 will be special for two reasons—Higher Education Day and Oklahoma’s Promise Day!
Join us at the State Capitol for a big day of celebration Tuesday, April 15! At 10:00 a.m., we’ll celebrate the Oklahoma’s Promise Scholarship Program in House Caucus Room 110. At 1:30 p.m., we’ll celebrate Higher Education Day in the Chamber of the House of Representatives on the 4th floor. A list of scheduled speakers includes Secretary of Education Nellie Tayloe Sanders; Speaker Kyle Hilbert; Sen. President Pro Tempore Lonnie Paxton; Rep. Arturo Alonso-Sandoval; State Regents’ chair Dennis Casey; Chancellor Sean Burrage; representatives of Oklahoma’s higher education institutions; and students from Oklahoma’s colleges and universities.
